J.V. Whitley
J.V. Whitley, 88 years of age, of Concord, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
J.V. was born September 24, 1925 in Stanly County to the late Lawrence Arthur Burris, Sr. and the late Lemmie Jane Burris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.V. Whitley; son Jimmy Whitley; and daughters, Della Mae Whitley and Janie Ford.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM, Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The graveside service, officiated by her grandson, Rev. Kevin Ford, will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 17236 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro, NC.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Biggers and husband, Eddie and son, Bob Whitley all of Concord; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Burris and sister, Marie Smith both of Albemarle.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Whitley family.
