Notes for Jamie Ludara Byrd
Jamie Byrd Peeler

Jamie Byrd Peeler, 62, of Rockwell, entered her Heavenly home on Sunday December 31, 2023, after a sudden illness.

Born July 29,1961, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Phyllis Byrd of Salisbury.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Debby Sparger.

She is survived by her daughters, Denise Craig, and Harli Peeler; their father, Dennis Peeler; her granddaughter, Cambrie Craig, who was her entire world; two grand dogs, Cookie and Boomer; her brother, Jim Byrd (Julie) of Salisbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jamie was a 1979 graduate of North Rowan High School. She was employed by Rockwell Auto Parts (NAPA), where she was completely dedicated to her position and to each of her coworkers who have become like extended family. Jamie has served her community in various positions over the years, waitressing, substitute teaching at East Rowan High School, and working at Crescent Pharmacy. Every job she had, she put her heart into. Whether it was delivering parts, answering a customer’s phone call, carrying out someone’s lesson plans, or making sure someone’s hot dog was made correctly.

Jamie was a member of Old Country Baptist Church in Salisbury, where she was involved in the youth ministry and held the title of Church Treasurer. She loved the Lord, and She wanted everyone she came in contact with to know about him. Jamie was a such prayer warrior and she felt the needs of everyone she encountered. To know her was to love her. She thoroughly enjoyed crocheting, and making her cancer awareness cross bookmarkers to pass out. Jamie enjoyed the beach trips that she and her “beach buddy” Juanita “Mawmaw” Guessford took together for the past few years. She looked forward to going to Blowing Rock with her daughters and granddaughter every Christmas to see the lights.

We would like to thank the staff of Novant ED and ICU in Salisbury for the care that was given for the 24 hours she was there.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Old Country Baptist Church from 2-3:45 pm, with the service to follow at 4:00 pm with Rev. Maurice Eagle officiating.

Memorials made to The HOPE Project, P.O. Box 321, Harrisburg, NC.

Powles Staton Funeral Home of Rockwell is assisting the Peeler family.
