Tuesday, September 23, 2008 — Robert Lee Shank Jr., 56, of 200 Prospect Church Road, Albemarle, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center, Albemarle. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Mt. Creek Primitive Baptist Church, where he attended. Elder Joe Helms and Elder Rommie Williams will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Born Aug. 20, 1952, in Stanly County, he was the son of Cleona Mae Huneycutt Shank of Albemarle and the late Robert Lee Shank Sr. He was a graduate of North Stanly High School and a former employee of Wiscassett Mills Co. Mr. Shank loved cars, especially his 1955 Ford. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home, Inc. from 6 to 8 tonight. The body will remain at the funeral home until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the hour of the service. Stanly Funeral Home is in charge.
