Sunday, October 20, 2013 — Cleona Mae Huneycutt Shank, 93, of Albemarle passed away Friday October 18, 2013 in her home.
Her funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday October 21, 2013 at Mt. Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Branan Hooven and Rev. Stoney Benfield officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family received friends on Sunday evening at Stanly Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.
Born January 3, 1920 in Stanly County, NC she was the daughter of the late Robert Farley Huneycutt and Elizabeth Rebecca Russell Huneycutt and was a retired employee of Wiscassett Mills Co. She was a member of Mt. Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
She was married to the late Robert Lee Shank Sr., who preceded her in death May 6, 1996. A son, Robert Lee Shank Jr., preceded her in death Sept. 21, 2008. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Robert, Aaron, Norman, Seymore and Everette, and four sisters, Gladys Huneycutt, Onnie Huneycutt, Sarah Huneycutt and Ada Honeycutt. She is survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins and her faithful companion Tiny.
