Sunday, August 26, 2012 — Jacob “Monroe” Miller, 69, of 43244 Danville Road, New London, died at 1:55 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 in his home.
The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Stanly Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church Cemetery in New London.
Born June 8, 1943 in Stanly County, he was a son of the late Jacob Alexander and Ruby Fraley Miller.
He was a retired employee of G S Development Corp. and was of the Baptist faith.
He loved his yard work and gardening, when his health permitted.
A brother, George Adam Miller, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Smith Miller of the home; a son, Gary Wayne Miller and wife, Michelle, of New London; a brother, John Lovelace Miller of Albemarle; a sister, Mildred Miller Wagoner of Gold Hill; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association, National Center, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75231.
