GOLD HILL - Mr. Ronald Ralph Jackson, 66, of Gold Hill, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2010, at his residence.

Mr. Jackson was born Feb. 19, 1944, in Abilene, Texas, a son of the late Mr. Ralph A. Jackson and Elizabeth Beaver Jackson. He was a graduate of East Rowan High School and owned Ronald Jackson Photography for 30 years. He also worked at W.A. Brown for 15 years and at the VA Medical Center in Salisbury from 1988 to 1989 as a photographer.

Mr. Jackson enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, was an avid outdoorsman, magician and a caretaker for family and friends. With the help of his daughter, he found his first nephew, Andrew T. Case of Eden.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Jackson Koontz.

He is survived by his wife, Lena Frances Ward Jackson, whom he married Dec. 23, 1961; son Victor Jackson and wife Mitzi of Rockwell; daughter Connie Jackson-Campbell and husband Al of Faith; brothers Thomas Jackson and wife Linda of Richfield, Robert Jackson and wife Linda of Reidsville, Randy Jackson and wife Cindy of Gold Hill and Ernest Jackson and wife Linda of Gold Hill; grandchildren Troy Kelley, Alisha Pressley, Austin and Lana Jackson; great-grandchild Jackson Kelley; as well as many nieces and nephews.

No services will be held.

Memorials: May be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC.
