Doris A. Barringer

GOLD HILL - Mrs. Doris Arey Barringer, 84, of Gold Hill, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center- Northeast in Concord.

Mrs. Barringer was born April 27, 1929, in Stanly County, daughter of the late Eli Arey and Icy Cranford Arey. She was a graduate of Richfield High School and of Cosmetology School.

Mrs. Barringer was employed as a Veterinarian Tech at Winston-Salem Veterinary Hospital. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and active in the United Methodist Women of the church.

Doris was very special to everyone. She always put everyone before herself - at work, at church and with her family and friends. Doris was always planting and growing something and sharing with everyone. She will be missed by all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Fred O. Arey and Mitchell Arey; sisters Irene Morgan, Rena Mae Stokes and Beda Lipe.

Left to cherish her memory are husband Jerry B. Barringer, who she married on Dec. 30, 1950; sister Thelma Ribelin of Gold Hill; many nieces and nephews and friends who were very special to her; as well as "LoBo," her sweet dog.

Service: Graveside Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Charlie Curtis, pastor.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
