"Yes, I think Bernice Eagle grew up near Liberty. Her parents' farm was off of Stokes Ferry Road, a few miles North of the intersection of Stokes Ferry Road and Highway 49, near High Rock Lake. After the end of the Second World War, she and her husband lived in downtown Salisbury for a number of years. About 1964, they moved off of Faith Road, south of Salisbury, to the Rowan Terrace subdivision. Although they lived in the East Rowan High School district, Laura attended Boyden High School in Salisbury because her elementary and junior high school friends were going there." [Todd Robinson, 1 Aug 1999]

"Bernice Eagle remarried a few years ago, after her first husband, Raymond Franklin Misenheimer, passed away. She married her long-time next door neighbor, Mack Byrum, a retired Highway Patrolman. Mr Byrum was a widower at the time. They now reside at Bernice's home at 1036 Rowan Circle. They rent out Mr, Byrum's home next door." [Todd Robinson, 2 Aug 1999]
