Shirley Ann Arey Shepherd

Shirley Ann Arey Shepherd, 87, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.

She was born November 9, 1935 in Rowan County to the late James Ross and Pauline Eagle Arey .

Shirley was a life long member of Luther's Lutheran Church, member of the choir for over 50 years, active with WECLA, and served as the church treasurer.

Shirley and her husband Albert owned and operated Albert Shepherd Realty for over 40 years.

Shirley loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She traveled all over the world with her husband Albert and friends Barry and Karin Lentz.

Shirley was an angel on earth, a gift to others, she never complained or said anything bad about anyone, she set a good example, never met a stranger, took time to smell the roses, and was a great wife, mother and grandmother.

Shirley is survived by her Husband Albert F. Shepherd, whom she married November 14, 1953; daughters, Sandy Shepherd Pardue and husband Richard of Salisbury and Avis Shepherd Frick and husband Roger of Salisbury; grandsons, Karl Erik and wife Dustie and Tristan Frick and wife Mary Katherine; granddaughter, Atalie Frick Bare and husband Joshua; great-granddaughters, Cannon Frick, Anna Jane Erik and Westley Frick; great-grandsons, Ross Frick, , Oliver Erik, Grayden Bare and Casen Bare; sister, Gayle Furr and husband Richard.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 2, 2023, in the Luther's Lutheran Church, Richfield, NC, with Pastor Jeff Hoffner officiating.

The family will greet friends and relatives on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Luther's Lutheran Church following the service in the fellowship hall.

Burial will take place in the Luther's Lutheran Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Luther's Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, 4955 Richfield Road, Richfield, NC.
