Buna Kesler Lingle

SALISBURY — Buna Kesler Lingle, 93, of Salisbury, died Sunday, June 25, 2006, at her residence.

Mrs. Lingle was born March 11, 1913, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late David Marcellus Kesler and Nancy Jane Frick Kesler. She was educated in Rowan County schools and Granite Quarry High School. Mrs. Lingle was a member of Christiana Lutheran Church, WELCA Group 1 and the Jennie Thomas Bible Class.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Claude Brown Lingle Sr., who died Dec. 19, 1992; daughter Betty Lingle Gaither, who died March 6, 1997; sister Estelle Honbarrier; and brothers Marvin Kesler, Crawford Kesler and Melvin Kesler.

Survivors are son Claude Brown Lingle Jr. and wife Dollie of Salisbury; daughter Ms. Bonnie June Lingle Sechler of Salisbury; sisters Mrs. Naomi K. Kirk of Richfield and Mrs. Saddie K. Morgan of Salisbury; brother Carl Kesler of Salisbury; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren also survive.

Service: The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christiana Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. Carl Haynes, pastor, with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home from 7-8:30 tonight.
