Florence Lyerly Miller
SALISBURY - Florence Pickler Lyerly Miller, 90, of Salisbury, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at Autumn Care of Salisbury.
Born Jan. 1, 1919, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Lillie Holshouser Pickler and Reather Love Pickler. Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Rockwell High School, Class of 1937.
A member of Union Lutheran Church, Martha Cauble Sunday School Class and church choir, she was a beautician and homemaker. She enjoyed being with family and friends, and also enjoyed sewing, especially quilting.
Preceding her in death were her first husband, James Luther Lyerly, on July 2, 1961; second husband, Roy Baxter Miller, on Sept. 17, 1988; brothers Shuford, Vance, Carl and Grady Pickler; sister Daisy Kluttz Adams; and a son, James B. Lyerly, who died Dec. 25, 2007.
Survivors include her son, Cicero L. Lyerly (Marg) of Salisbury; daughter Edith Lyerly Cauble (Gene) of Salisbury; grandchildren Luther John Lyerly (Lauren), Paul Cauble (Gail), Kim Williams (Randal), Sara Draper (Chuck) and Laura Ruth Lyerly; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation/Service: 1-2 p.m. Friday, March 27 at Union Lutheran Church. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The Rev. Robert Howard will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials: Union Lutheran Church, Memorial Fund, 4770 Bringle Ferry Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.
