Mrs. Vergie Gallimore Jackson, age 88 of Highway # 47 East, Denton, NC died Saturday, March 2, at Thomasville Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 6 at Siloam United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Scott Davis and Rev. Sandy Young. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence on NC Highway # 47 East.

Mrs. Jackson was born March 10, 1924 in Randolph County to Ed Gallimore and Lillie Dunning Galllimore.

She was an active member of Siloam United Methodist Church. She had worked at Thornton Knitting Company and was a homemaker.

She was married to J. David Jackson who died February 24, 2008.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Reece Gallimore and Ray Gallimore and by sisters, Jessie Franks and Mildred Nance and by a granddaughter Cindy Lynn Markham.

She is survived by sons, Eddie Jackson and wife Cathy and Tony Jackson and wife Fonda all of Denton; by a daughter Linda Markham and husband Wayne of Denton; by a brother Robert Gallimore of Lexington; by sisters Jeweldean Franks of Denton and Gladys Metters of Lexington; by grandchildren Kim Markham and wife Gay, Keith Jackson and wife Jody and Davin Jackson and wife Kathryn; great grandchildren, Kaci, Lindsey and Koby Markham.

Memorials may be made to Siloam United Methodist Church or to Davidson County Cancer Services.
