DENTON J. David Jackson, 90, of East N.C. Highway 47, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, at Thomasville Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Siloam United Methodist Church by the Revs. Sandy Young and Fred Hill. Burial with military honors conducted by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Jackson was born Oct. 10, 1917, in Rowan County to John Jackson and Ida Eagle Jackson. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired employee of Thomasville Furniture Industries. He was an active member of Siloam United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Jackson, Maneto Jackson and Bill Jackson.

He is survived by his wife, Virgie Gallimore Jackson of the home; two sons, Eddie Jackson and his wife, Cathy, and Tony Jackson and his wife, Fonda, all of Denton; one daughter, Linda Markham and her husband, Wayne, of Denton; a brother, Louie Jackson of Salisbury; two sisters, Thelma Luther of Asheboro and Ruby Page of Granite Quarry; three grandchildren, Kim Markham and his wife, Gay, Keith Jackson and his wife, Jody, and Davin Jackson; and three great-grandchildren, Kaci, Lindsey and Koby Markham.

The family will see friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.

Memorials may be made to Siloam United Methodist Church or to Denton Public Library Building Fund.
