Notes for Henry Ledbetter
In 1702 Prince George Shire was formed from all the land on the south side of the Appomattox River from Charles City Shire. Years latter Dinwiddie, Surry, and Brunswick Shires were taken from Prince George Shire.
On 29 Apr 1668 Gov. Berkeley granted Henry Ledbetter 224 acres of land on the south side of the Appomattox River in Charles City Shire. Land Office, Richmond, VA, book 6. Charles City Co, VA Rec Book 1655-6, p. 217
