Ruby Morgan Smith
SALISBURY - Ruby Morgan Smith, 91, of Salisbury, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, at Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks.
Mrs. Smith was born July 16, 1915, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Adam Dolphus Morgan and Carrie Etta Eagle Morgan. She was educated in Rowan County schools and graduated from Boyden High School. A homemaker, she was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Sam C. Smith, on Dec. 5, 1987.
Survivors include stepdaughter Gladys Morgan of Salisbury; stepgrandchildren Peggy Smith Grigg of Albemarle, Stephen Smith of Greensboro, David Smith of Albemarle, Sue Russell of Salisbury, Jimmy Butner of Greensboro and Beverly Locklear of Norfork, Va.; several step-great-grandchildren; sisters Mrs. Ruth Morgan Rankin of Salisbury and Mrs. Rena Morgan Brown of Charlotte; nieces and nephews Norman and Kyle Ribelin of Salisbury, Connie Jenkins of Burke, Va., Frank Brown Jr. of Winterville, Ann Gardner of Pacifica, Cailf., and Betsy Brown of Asheville.
Service: The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Liberty United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Mark Helms, pastor, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Liberty United Methodist Church Educational Building from 3-4 p.m. Friday.
Memorials: Memorials may be made to Liberty United Methodist Church.
