Christine Hatley

Christine Patton Hatley, 71 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Chris was born October 1, 1946 in Burke County to the late Robert Morris Patton and the late Hattie Geneva Rumfelt Patton.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda English and Shirley Osborne.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Salem United Methodist Church in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Steve Combs. Burial will follow at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, 20987 NC 73 Hwy, Albemarle.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Ted Hatley; one daughter, Angie (Wyatt) Pegram of Albemarle; one son, Eric (Amelym) Hatley of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Tyler Pegram, Elena, Lorenzo, and Augusto Nasr-Hatley; brother, "Earl" Patton; and sister, Carolyn Trinca; and her beloved St. Bernard, Pete.

Chris worked as a dental hygienist for 44 years and was a member of the first graduating class for dental hygiene at Central Piedmont Community College. An active member of Salem United Methodist Church, she taught Sunday School for children over 30 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Mother Advisor for the Albemarle Assembly #32 International Order of the Rainbow for Girls for 30 years. Chris was also a member of the Nobles, the ladies auxilliary for the Stanly County Shriners. For over 40 years, she worked as a volunteer for the Millingport Volunteer Fire Department.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Spring Arbor Memory Cottage for their love, care, and compassion for Chris during her stay there.
