"The W.K. Littleton Collection (P.C. # 227.1) at the N.C. State Archives contains a number of papers of Benjamin Bell of Montgomery Co., N.C.

Among these is a list of "Children Borne to Charles LEDBETTER and his wife Francis" sent "to Mr. Benjamin Bell," who married Charles' daughter, Elizabeth LEDBETTER. Charles and Frances (RANDLE) LEDBETTER moved from Brunswick Co., VA to Montgomery Co., N.C., shortly before the American Revolution (see Roy C. LEDBETTER et al, LEDBETTERS FROM VIRGINIA). The list of Charles' and Frances' children, evidently copied from a family Bible (and which was not known to the authors of LEDBETTERS FROM VIRGINIA)..."
