Notes for Capt. Peter Randle
Peter Randle was a representative along with Robert Moss for Montgomery County at the First Session of the NC House of Commons which met at Wake County Courthouse from June 23 to July 14, 1781. (For safety reasons they did not meet at New Bern.) One of their actions was the election of Thomas Burke as governor since Gov. Nash's term had expired.

Vol. 19 gives Randle's allowance for the July 1781 session, and for attendance at Salem in Nov 1781 and Apr 1782.

Sworn in as a representative from Montgomery County, Peter Randle introduced legislation calling for the Montgomery County Court House to be built at its present site.
