KANNAPOLIS - William "Bill" Ernest Taylor, 94, passed away Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at his home in Kannapolis.
Mr. Taylor was born Aug. 17, 1920, in Gold Hill, the son of the late Ernest McKee Taylor and Annie Victoria Carter Taylor. He worked as a bulldozer and back hoe operator. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Enochville and a charter member of Flat Woods Hunting Club in Gold Hill.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Taylor Earnhardt and Inez Ridenhour.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Adelaide Taylor; a son, Wayne Taylor and wife Johnsie of Salisbury; two daughters, Wanda McDonald and husband Robert of Concord and Becky Sutherland and husband Bobby, of Kannapolis; a brother, John Taylor of Rockwell; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to say a special thanks to their neighbor Ronnie Hall.
Service: A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Lewis Whittington will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Memorials:May be sent to Community Home Care and Hospice, Statesville, NC; or First Baptist Church of Enochville.
