John Lawrence Bost, 83, of Norwood passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 8, 2020 at Atrium Northeast in Concord.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Aquadale Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Dale Brooks will officiate.
John was born March 20, 1937 in Stanly County to the late Prince and Vetress Frick Bost. He was a US Army Reserve Veteran and a former Volunteer Fireman with Aquadale Volunteer Fire Department. He was a lifetime and active member of Aquadale Baptist Church having served as deacon, Sunday School teacher and choir member. He was a former team member of NC Baptist Men’s Disaster Response team.
He was a retired master mechanic from the City of Albemarle with 25 years service. He was past president of the Stanly County Antique Power Club. John was a wonderful friend and neighbor to anyone he met. He loved gardening and woodworking.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William Bost and Hoy Bost sisters, Genoel Blalock, Carrie Gallimore and Peggy Hedrick.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sue Bost of the home; daughters, Judy Lucas and husband, John; Marindy Harris and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Laura Carpenter, Jennifer Mauldin and husband, Wesley, and Jeremy Lucas and wife, McKenzie; great-grandchildren, Bentley Carpenter, Alexxus Carpenter and expected Hayden Lucas; brothers Herman Bost, Loy Bost, Harry Bost and Newman Bost and sister, Hazel Dorsey.
