Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006 — Elbert Lee Hatley, 67, of 22476-A Canton Road, Albemarle, died at 6:20 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, in Britthaven of Piedmont in Albemarle.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel. Elder Rommie Williams will officiate and burial will be in Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Albemarle.
Born May 27, 1939, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late Hardy Green and Minnie Vera Furr Hatley and was a retired cloth handler for E.J. Snyder and Company.
A brother, George Junior Hatley, preceded him in death.
He is survived by a sister, Vera Hopkins of Albemarle.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle.
