INDIAN LAND - Mr. Jerald Irenus Efird, 69, of 933 Johnna Lane, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at Wayne T. Patrick House of Rock Hill.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at Osceola United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Eric Shepard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A native of Fort Mill, Mr. Efird was a son of the late Jacob Irenus Efird and Nellie Eudy Efird. He was retired from the South Carolina National Guard. He was a member of Osceola UMC, Masonic Lodge 414, VFW Post 9138, the Elks Club and the Moose Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Efird and a brother, Marshall Efird.
Surviving are his son, Nathan Efird of Indian Land; a daughter, Melissa Efird of Jacksonville, Fla.; his girlfriend, Linda Rodgers of Fort Mill; three sisters, Kathleen Jackson of Fort Mill, Louvine Glenn of Mooresville, N.C., and Ethlyn Hammond of Fort Mill; and one grandchild.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Osceola United Methodist Church and Masonic Rites will be at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Osceola United Methodist Church, Lancaster, or Hospice and Community Care, Rock Hill.
