Thursday, March 22, 2007 — Jimmie Darrell Lambert, 63, of Albemarle, went home to be with the Lord on March 20, 2007, at home, after a long, courageous battle with ALS, Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
His funeral will be at 4 p.m. Friday, March 23, at Canton Baptist Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Mark Mabry will officiate and burial will be in Canton Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hartsell Funeral Home.
He was born on June 9, 1943, in Stanly County. He was the son of Lloyd Lambert and the late Estelle P. Lambert.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Josephine Lambert; a daughter, Lisa Childers, and her husband, Richard; a daughter, Beverly Perry and her husband, Michael, and a son, Darrell Lambert, and three granddaughters, Jessica Forrest, Kellie Childers, and Courtney Perry.
Memorials may be made to Canton Baptist Church, or to Hospice of Stanly County.
