Betty Jean Herrin Tucker
NEW LONDON — Betty Jean Herrin Tucker, 68, 110 N. Oak St., died Monday (Oct. 22, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born Aug. 17, 1933, in Stanly County, Mrs. Tucker, a daughter of the late Paul William and Ida Mae Hatley Herrin, was educated at Millingport School.
Her husband, Hoyle Duncan Tucker, died in 1989.
Survivors include daughter Patsy Iossi, Spencer; son Tommy Tucker, Mount Pleasant; sister Jewell Efird, Albemarle; brothers Norman Herrin, Alabama, and Rayvon Herrin, Charlotte; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
She retired after 28 years from Richfield Manufacturing, where she was a sewing machine operator.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Hartsell Funeral Home chapel, Albemarle, conducted by the Rev. Chris Hawks and the Rev. Earl Barringer. Burial, Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church cemetery, Albemarle.
Visitation: 7-9 tonight at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Jewell Efird, 1214 Old Charlotte Road, Albemarle.
