ALBEMARLE -- Verne Moose, 79, of 24875 US Hwy 52 S. Albemarle died Sunday, September 26, 2004.
Born February 7, 1925 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late Guy H. and Virgie Leo Barringer Moose. He was educated at Albemarle High School. He was a retired Dairy Farmer with Moose's Dairy. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was a former deacon and choir member. Additionally, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII.
He was married to Pauline 'Polly' Moose of the home. In addition, survivors include, Mark L. Moose and wife, Patsy of Denver, NC; daughter, Karen M. Hickman and husband, Tom of Rock Hill, SC; brother, Gene Moose of Albemarle; sister, Adelaide Pickler of New London; 4 grandchildren, Wesley Hickman, Brett Hickman, Lauren Hickman, and Michelle Moose.
His funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. Monday at Stanly Funeral Home where the body will remain until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the hour of the service. At other hours, the family will be at his home, 24875 US Hwy 52 S. Albemarle.
Memorials may be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation or to the charity of the Donor's Choice.
