NEWPORT NEWS - Betty Lou Starnes, 75, born to the late Lula Bell Miller Austin and Orin O. Austin in Richfield, N.C., on Oct. 10, 1935, died at Mary Immaculate Hospital on Jan. 25, 2011.
She was preceded in death by one son, Larry W. Starnes.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Billy R. Starnes; two daughters, Linda K. Morgan and Brenda F. Starnes; two sons, Stephen E. Starnes and Timothy W. Starnes; two sisters, Lola Burris and Faye Yarbrough and husband, Joe; four brothers, Richard Austin, Raymond Austin, David Austin and wife, Polly, and John Austin; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, also at the funeral home with burial to follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
