Isabelle Fraser Lomax
GOLD HILL - Isabelle Fraser Lomax, 85, of Gold Hill, passed away on Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at Genesis Healthcare of Salisbury.
Isabelle was born in Scotland, the daughter of the late John Fraser and Mary McFarlane Fraser. Her family moved to America when she was 18 months old.
Educated in the New York Schools, Isabelle was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith. She loved reading, needlepoint, cross stitching and being with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons John Boyce Lomax, Bruce Alan Lomax; and daughter Margaret E. Zabicki.
Survivors include her husband, Boyce Worth Lomax, who she married March 18, 1944; son Robert Wade Lomax of Springhill, Fla.; daughter Mary Ann Doby and husband Ted of Gold Hill; sisters Catherine Walker of Raleigh and Anna Martin of Floral Park, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16 at the Powles Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Tom Lomax, pastor of Old Country Baptist Church, Salisbury.
Memorials: May be made to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
