CLEVELAND -- Valory Gayle Carriker Story, 56, 465 Phifer Road, formerly of Norwood, died Thursday (June 3, 2004) at Davis Regional Medical Center.
Born May 22, 1948, in Stanly County, Mrs. Story, a daughter of the late Homer Lee and Bertha Ann Almond Carriker, was a homemaker.
Survivors include husband William Lewis "Bill" Story; son Joseph Lewis Story, Burleson,Texas; daughters Yolanda Eckmann and Shonia Story Lee, both of Cleveland; brother Troy Carriker, Morganton; sisters Frances Underwood, Peggy Caulder and Faye Blalock, all of Norwood; and nine grandchildren.
Services: 4 p.m. Sunday, Memorial Baptist Church, Norwood, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Lambert and the Rev. Nathan Fox. The body will be placed in the church at 3:30. Burial, Simpson Family Cemetery, Albemarle.
Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle. At other times the family will be at the home on Phifer Road.
