Mrs. Ida Basinger Earnhardt, 90, of Salisbury, passed away Friday, January 9, 2009, at Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks.
Born January 16, 1918, in Rowan County, Mrs. Earnhardt was a daughter of the late James Oliver Basinger and Ida Joanne Barger. She was educated in Rowan County Schools. She worked as an inspector at the Cannon Mills Plant #1 for 47 years. She was a member of Union Lutheran Church, WELCA, Anna Petrea Group, Martha Cauble Sunday School Class, a volunteer at Granite Quarry Meal Site, and a life member of Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary Auxiliary.
Preceding her in death is her husband Clifford Holland Earnhardt, Sr.
Survivors include 2 sons; Clifford Earnhardt, Jr. (Mary Elizabeth) of Salisbury, and Timothy Eugene Earnhardt (Cheryl) of Woodleaf, daughter; Marlene Earnhardt Bollinger of Granite Falls, NC, 6 grandchildren; Jessica Earnhardt, Renee Blackburn (David), Kim Rolon (Dan), Carrie Key (Gene), Sean Earnhardt (Sherry), Holly Harrington, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Service: 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 12, 2009, at Union Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Howard and Rev. Chris Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation: 7-8:30 P.M. Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Lyerly Funeral Home.
