Kathern Trexler Weaver
SALISBURY - Kathern Jeanette Trexler Weaver, 71, of Salisbury, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 3, 1939, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Martha Kirksey Trexler and David Wilbert Trexler.
Educated in Rowan County schools and Salisbury Business College, she worked as a secretary for various insurance agencies.
Mrs. Weaver was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she was active in Sunday School, Bonnie E. Bost WELCA, hand bell choir, senior choir, women's choir, altar guild, youth adviser, communion, acolyte and crucifer adviser. She was also a life-member of Lutheran Southern Theological Seminary Auxiliary.
Preceding her in death was a brother, David Ray Trexler.
Survivors include her husband, Troy E. Weaver, whom she married Dec. 25, 1959; sons David Franklin Weaver and Brian Troy Weaver (Missie); brother Grant Trexler (Shirley); sisters Margaret Trexler Lyons (Rick), Marie Trexler Roseman (Jerry), all of Salisbury; and two grandchildren, Anthony Weaver and Briana Weaver.
Visitation: 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31 at Lyerly Funeral Home.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 205 St. Paul's Church Road, Salisbury. The Rev. William Ketchie and the Rev. Floyd Bost will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials: Parrish Nurse Program and Senior Choir, c/o St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
