ROCKWELL - Joe Alexander Brown, of Rockwell, died unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at his home.
Born Sept. 5, 1926, in Rowan County, Mr. Brown was the son of the late Clarence A. Brown and Mamie Miller Brown. He had attended the Rockwell School.
He is survived by his long time partner, Myra Neal Morrison; sister and brother-in-law Gladys and Broadus Hinson; and nephews Donald K. Hinson and Stephen Lynn Hinson of Kannapolis.
Mr. Brown served from 1950-1952 in Korea in the U.S. Army as a sergeant in the infantry and had received his Infantry Badge with Bronze Clusters. He had worked at Morrison Farms since 1972.
Service: Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lowerstone Church Cemetery with Dr. Darryl Maxwell of Tryon officiating.
Visitation: Visitation will be held from 6-8 tonight at Powles Funeral Home in Rockwell.
