FAITH - Joan Holshouser Wilhelm, 70, Faith, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury. Born May 9, 1930, in Rowan County, Mrs. Wilhelm, a daughter of the late Homer A. 'Hootsie' and Ferne Robertson Holshouser, was a 1948 graduate of Granite Quarry High School. She retired in 1999 after 25 years from Norandal, where she was an insurance and retirement benefits clerk. Mrs. Wilhelm was a member of Faith Baptist Church and had been a member of Faith American Legion Auxiliary Post 327 for 50 years and a past president. She was also a member of La Societe De Femmes. Survivors include husband Bill Wilhelm, whom she married Nov. 1, 1952; son George A. Wilhelm, Faith; daughter Gloria Ann Wilhelm, Faith; brother Gray Holshouser, Salisbury; sister Madge H. Sifford, Rockwell; and two grandchildren. Services: 4 p.m. Thursday, Faith Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev.Charles R. Brawley. Burial, church cemetery. Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell. Memorials: Faith Baptist Church, Memorial Fund, Faith, NC.
