ALBEMARLE — Roy Lee Furr, 79, 19658 Lakeside Drive, died Monday (Dec. 6, 1999) at Stanly Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 22, 1920, in Stanly County, Mr. Furr was a son of the late Albert and Sarah Eudy Furr. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in the Pacific during World War II. He had worked as a finisher with Collins & Aikman.
Survivors include wife Lucille Myrtle Hall Furr; son Dillon Furr, Albemarle; stepson Tyrone Hall, Albemarle; brothers Clayton and Johnny Furr, both of Albemarle; and two grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Salem United Methodist Church , conducted by the Rev. Mark Denton. Burial, church cemetery.
Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Hartsell Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home on Lakeside Drive.
