ROCKWELL - Rena Hammill Bost, 84, of Rockwell, died Saturday, April 29, 2006, at her residence.
Mrs. Bost was born April 15, 1922, in Stanly County to late Richard H. Hammill and Eva Wagoner Hammill. She was a 1937 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and Kings College. Mrs. Bost was the Bookkeeper for Collins Department Store, Rockwell Freezer Locker and Rockwell Radio and Electric Company and a homemaker. Mrs. Bost was a member of Ursinus United Church of Christ, Rockwell, former Womens Guild Leader receiving the Lifetime Pin, past Matron of the Rockwell Order of the Eastern Star # 465, and former Brownie Scout Troop Leader.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Hugh William Bost, Sr., who died on May 11, 2004.
Survivors include a son Hugh William Bost, Jr. and wife Shirley of Rockwell; daughter Jody Bost Mease and husband John of Mooresville; brothers Guy Hammill of Richfield and James Hammill of Charleston, S.C.; sisters Mildred Lyerly of Goldsboro and Jean Whitley of Charlotte; grandchildren Wendy and Eric Bost of Rockwell.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ursinus United Church of Christ, Rockwell conducted by Rev. Guy Fisher, Former Pastor. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation: 7-9 p.m. tonight at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell Memorials: Rowan Regional Home Health & Hospice, 825-A W. Henderson St., Salisbury, NC 28144 or Ursinus United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 175 Rockwell, NC 28138.
