Charlie Lentz Helderman
GOLD HILL - Charlie Lentz Helderman, 91, of Gold Hill, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Helderman was born Feb. 8, 1918, in Rowan County, the son of the late Charles Alexander and Lottie Joanna Russell Helderman. Mr. Helderman was a graduate of Rockwell High School and a life-member of Gold Hill United Methodist Church.
Mr. Helderman had owned Service Oil & Supply Company, SOS Coins and Helderman Trucking. He was a past member of Rowan County School Board, a member and past President of the Rowan County Coin Club.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Helderman was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Stikeleather Helderman, on Aug. 25, 2007.
Survivors include son Stephen Helderman of Gold Hill; daughters Ann H. Vaughan of Indianapolis, Ind., and Kay Graham and husband John of Salisbury; grandchildren Sierra Helderman, Genna Helderman and John Graham; and great-grandchild Aaron Graham.
Visitation: 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.
Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Gold Hill United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Karen Branch, pastor.
Memorials: May be made to Gold Hill United Methodist Church.
