CHINA GROVE - Belinda Fay Casper Goodman, 44, of China Grove, died Tuesday (Aug. 9, 2005) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, following a one-year illness. Born Dec. 30, 1960, in Rowan County, Mrs. Goodman was a daughter of Irving Casper and Sylvia Morgan Casper, both of Gold Hill.
A 1979 graduate of East Rowan High School, she was a lifelong resident of Gold Hill and China Grove. She was employed at Turtle Creek Nursery in Mooresville and was a lifelong member of Luther's Lutheran Church in Richfield. She was also a member and secretary/treasurer of New Beginnings Gospel Fellowship in China Grove, where she attended faithfully and devoted much of her time and effort to the glory of God.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include husband Derek Lamont Goodman, whom she married Aug. 9, 2003; sons Rick Stephens and wife Jami of Granite Falls and William Watkins of Salisbury; brother Kenneth Casper and wife Wendy of Gold Hill; sister Sarah Casper of Gold Hill; grandchildren Mekinzie and Morgan Stephens of Granite Falls; nephews Josh and Logan Casper of Gold Hill; and niece Samantha Grooms of Gold Hill.
Service : Memorial, 7 pm, Thursday, Whitley 's Funeral Home chapel, Kannapolis, conducted by Pastor Richard Foy.
Visitation : The family will greet friends in the chapel foyer following the service.
The family would like to express their appreciation to a special friend and caregiver, Kimberly Sweatt.
