According to her death certificate, Rebecca is the daughter of Adam Troutman and Katherine Barringer, but Adam Troutman was killed at Spotsylvania Courthouse in May 1864. In the the 1870 census Catherine Barringer is keeping house with Rufus 13, Moses 11, Elizabeth 9, and Rebecca 2. No husband is listed.
