Molene Coley Lyerly
Molene Coley Lyerly, 84, Salisbury, died Wednesday (May 24, 2000) at her home after a period of declining health.
Born Aug. 15, 1915, in Rowan County, Mrs. Lyerly was a daughter of Jessie Coley and Lizzie Eller. Jessie Coley died Feb. 20, 1916 in Winston-Salem NC. Lizzie Eller Coley later married Jessie Banks Frick on April 15, 1922, who raised Molene. Educated in the Rowan County schools, she had retired from Cannon Mills.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Faith, where she was active in the Mae Tucker Fidelis Sunday School Class and WELCA. She was a member of Faith American Legion Auxiliary.
Her husband, Herman Walter Lyerly, died Sept. 4, 1992.
Survivors include daughter Becky Anthony, Hickory; sisters Anneva Ritchie, Salisbury, and Betty Carter, Faith; and two grandchildren.
Services: 4 p.m. Friday, Faith Lutheran Church, Faith, conducted by the Rev.Keith Copeland and the Rev. Judy Copeland, co-pastors. Burial, church cemetery.
