SALISBURY - Mrs. Ruby Jane Artz Carter, 74, of Rockwell died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007 at Genesis Eldercare of Salisbury.
Born February 18, 1933 in Rowan County the daughter of the late Charlie Banks Artz, Sr. and Mary Magalene Lefler Artz. Mrs. Carter was educated in the Rowan County Schools and Rockwell High School. She was a Life member of Faith Lutheran Church and was a Homemaker.
In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by a son, Stanley Carter who died Feb. 15, 1979.
Survivors are husband Mayford Thurman Carter of the home; son Phil Carter & wife Kathy of Mocksville, daughter Tammy Miller & husband Pete of Rockwell, brothers Lonnie Artz and Carlee Artz of Rockwell, sister Gladys Williams of Rockwell. Also grandchilden Terri Boger, Joey Carter, Jessi Foss, Christy Beaver, Amber Watson & Dallas Brown, and three great-grandchildren
Visitation: 1:00-2:30 PM Tuesday at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell and the remainder of the time at the residence.
Funeral Services: 2:30 PM Tuesday at the Powles Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Loyd Ginn, Pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, Faith.
Burial: Brookhill Memorial Gardens, Rockwell.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe sent to Alzheimer's Disease Foundation, NC Chapter, Charlotte, NC.
Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell is assisting the family of Mrs. Carter.
