Clora Catherine Furr Almond
CONCORD - Clora Catherine Furr Almond, 91, 430 Brookwood Ave. N.E., died Thursday (Dec. 2, 1999) at Concord Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Aug. 19, 1908, in Stanly County, Mrs. Almond was a daughter of the late Martha Delana Furr and Adam Lovely Furr. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Luther Wilson Almond, died July 12, 1977. A stepdaughter, Truley Almond Daugherty, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include steps on Jerry P. Almond, Oakboro; stepdaughter Rachel Almond Caudle, Coconut Creek, Fla.; sisters Elmira Burris, Albemarle, Martha Coppaway, Charlotte, and Tina Tucker, Oakboro;; brother Grover Furr, Albemarle; four step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Services: 4 p.m. Sunday, Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Stanfield, conducted by Elder Richard Almond. Burial, church cemetery.
Visitation: 6-8 tonight, Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle. At other times the family will be at the home of a niece, Louise Harwood, 28960 Pole Running Road, Mount Pleasant.
