Lewis Alonzo Efird
OAKBORO - Lewis Alonzo Efird, 82, 12012 E. 10th St., died Friday (Sept. 29, 2000) at Stanly Memorial Hospital, Albemarle.
Born June 30, 1918, in Albemarle, he was the son of the late Zula Hatley and Shuford Lonzo Efird.
Retired from Van Ply Inc., where he was sample room supervisor, he was a member of Barbee's Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters Melba Barbee, Oakboro, Reba Helms, Charlotte, and Shelia Taylor and Sharon Thompson, both of Oakboro; son Roger Efird, Oakboro; sister Jewel Burris, Oakboro; brother Kermit Efird, Norwood; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, conducted by the Rev. Joe Smith.
Burial: Smith's Grove Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
