Doris 'Dot' Morgan
SALISBURY - Mrs. Doris "Dot" Lee Coppley Morgan, 80, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at her residence.
She was born June 5, 1934, in Davidson County to the late Leroy and Delkie Bean Coppley.
Dot was educated in Davidson County schools and was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church where she helped with Bible School as long as her health permitted. She also helped for many years at Liberty Volunteer Fire Department, making tea for their fundraisers.
In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her brother, Raeford Coppley; and two sisters, Elizabeth "Lib" Miller and Margaret Kinnamon.
She is survived by her husband, Mr. John N. Morgan Jr., who she married Feb. 4, 1956; sons Johnny Morgan of Salisbury and Tim Morgan and wife Lisa of Rockwell; daughters Teresa "Bink" Gobble and husband Joe of Gold Hill, Lisa Snider and husband Mike of Rockwell, Tammie Harkey and husband Tony of Mt. Pleasant, Johna "Bumper" Hopkins and husband Mark of Gold Hill; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Family Life Center at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Salisbury.
Service: The funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Gary Coble, pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials: May be made to Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care; or St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Scholarship Fund,.
