Clara Sue Frye Fraley
Clara Sue Frye Fraley, 86, of Richfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017.
She was born on August 8, 1930, in Rowan County, daughter of the late H.A. and Clara Mae Frye Drye and raised by adopted parents, the late David and Sarah Jane Frye.
She was a 1948 graduate of Cannon High School in Kannapolis and worked for Terry Products as a Seamstress. A lifelong member of Luther's Lutheran Church, she was the church pianist and organist for 75 years.
Mrs. Fraley was a member of the LCW at Luther's Lutheran and along with her husband, delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. She loved animals, especially her cats and dogs.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fraley was preceded in death by an infant daughter, her son, Lloyd Thomas Fraley, sisters, Geraldine Drye, Marjorie Drye Almond, Hilda Steele, and Eleanor Efird, and brother, Alvin B. Drye.
She is survived by husband, whom she married November 8, 1952, Billy Joe "Jake" Fraley, daughter, Carol Annette Fraley of Richfield, grandson, Heath Aaron Fraley, brother, Harold Drye, and sisters, Norma Jean Goodman, Vetra Culp, Carolyn McDonald, Faye Safrit, and Lois Fortune.
The family will visit with friends and relatives prior to the funeral service from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Luther's Lutheran Church.
The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in Luther's Lutheran Church in Richfield conducted by Rev. Tommy Beaver, pastor and Rev. George Simmons, former pastor.
Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Luther's Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
