Johnnie Edward Bowers, 91, of Albemarle, passed away Monday May 15, 2018 at Bethany Woods Nursing Home and Rehab. A private family Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Johnnie was born April 25, 1927 in Stanly County, NC and was the son of the late Johnnie Adam Bowers and Viola Mauldin Bowers. Mr. Bowers was a member of the Albemarle Wesleyan Church and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII.
Mr. Bowers was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice Bea Bowers. Survivors include a daughter Phyllis Ann Bowers Morton; brother Lamar Bowers and wife Patricia of Albemarle, NC; two sisters Ruby Forrest of Troy, NC and Mondell Brasington of Cheraw, SC; nephews Mark Bowers and Hank Brasington; niece Debbie Adams and devoted friends Jim and Barbara Davis.
