Mrs. Doris Miller Ryan, 87, of Salisbury, NC passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at her residence.
She was born May 14, 1930 in Spencer, NC to the late Blanche Iddings Miller and George W. Miller.
She was a graduate of Spencer High School. Mrs. Ryan received her BA Degree in Primary Education from the Women’s College (now UNC-G). She was a teacher in Charlotte, the Philippines Islands and Spencer.
Mrs. Ryan was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death were her sisters, Marie Miller and Ruby Sanchez.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Vernon Ryan whom she married June 7, 1952; children, Tim Ryan and wife Lisa of Las Vegas, NV, Dr. Susan Catapano of Wilmington, NC, Melissa Wade and husband Jerry of Jupiter, FL, and Tony Ryan of Salisbury, NC; her twin brother, George Miller, Jr. and wife Eula of Durham, NC and sister, Georgia Ryan of Salisbury, NC. Also surviving are grandchildren, Mandy Kiger and husband Brett of Raleigh, Sara Catapano of Allentown, PA, Nicole Catapano of New York, NY, Zack Ryan of Lexington, NC, Aaron Ryan of St. Louis, MO, Dori Ryan of St. Louis, MO, Ryan Wade of Jupiter, FL, Morgan Wade of Jupiter, FL and Savannah Wade of Jupiter, FL.
A memorial service will be at 3:00 PM Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Central United Methodist Church in Spencer with a reception following the service.
