Norma Jean Trexler Brown
Norma Jean Trexler Brown, 88, of Salisbury, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020.
She was born December 10, 1931, in Rowan County to the late Nat Francis Trexler and Clara Morgan Trexler. Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Queens College and worked for Ketner Law Firm where she was a secretary and NC Lutheran Home where she was the office manager. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Granite Quarry where she served as organist and choir director. Mrs. Brown enjoyed her bridge club, painting, photography, and traveling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James Gibson "Buster" Brown, Sr., who passed away May 15, 2017; and brother, Roy Trexler.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her children, James G. Brown Jr., and wife, Sarah, David Keith Brown and wife, Patricia, and Jewel Brown Greene and husband, Keith, all of Salisbury; sister, Carol Lowman of Salisbury; grandchildren, Christopher Lowman and wife, Christy, and Colin Brown and wife, Morgan; and great-grandchildren, Riley and Gabriella Lowman and Scarlett and Makayla Adams.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM on Sunday, December 13, at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell
The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Powles Staton Funeral Home.
A private family burial will take place at Shiloh United Methodist Church.
