GOLD HILL -- The funeral is Thursday for Irene Arey Morgan, 83, Gold Hill, who died Monday (Dec. 20, 2004) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.
Born March 6, 1921, in Rowan County, Mrs. Morgan, a daughter of the late Eli and Icy Cranford Arey, was educated in the Rowan County schools. She was a retired seamstress.
A member of East Corinth Baptist Church, she attended Zion United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Fred N. Morgan, died May 27, 1966.
Survivors include son Harry Morgan, Norfolk, Va.; brother Mitchell "Jack" Arey, Rockingham; sisters Thelma Ribelin, Gold Hill, Beda Lipe, Mount Pleasant, and Doris Barringer, Salisbury; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Zion United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Marion Fulk, pastor. Burial, East Corinth Baptist Church cemetery.
Visitation: 6:30-8 tonight, Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.
Memorials: American Cancer Society.
