Helen Maness Lyerly
CARTHAGE - Helen Maness Lyerly, 81, of Carthage, formerly of Rowan County, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at Pinelake Health & Rehabilitation.
Born Sept. 29, 1926, in Rowan County, Mrs. Lyerly was a daughter of the late Georgia Brown Maness and Quincy A. Maness. Educated in Rowan County schools, she retired from food service with Rowan-Salisbury Schools.
Mrs. Lyerly was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Women of the ELCA and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Lee Lyerly Sr., and a son, Terry Dennis Lyerly.
Surviving are son Herman Lee Lyerly Jr. (Kathy) of Salisbury; daughter Sandra Lyerly of Sanford; sisters Alberta Cinquemani (Tony) of Gold Hill and Gerry Frick of Salisbury; grandchildren Tim LaBounty, Mike LaBounty, Chace Lyerly and Logan Lyerly; and great-grandchildren Taylor LaBounty, Morgan LaBounty and Corbin LaBounty.
Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Ridenhour officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation: 6-7:30 tonight at Lyerly Funeral Home in Salisbury. At other times, the family will be at the home of her son.
