Manteo M. Jackson
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Manteo Monroe Jackson, 90, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006.
Born Jan. 12, 1916, Mr. Jackson was a veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Army during World War II. He loved his faith in God and his church of more than 50 years, Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mr. Jackson was an avid golfer and a active member of the West Meadows Senior Golf Association.
He was a devoted family man who will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Estelle W. Jackson.
He is survived by son Rodney F. Jackson (Faye); daughters Ginger Ingold (James) and Melody Neely (Scott); brothers Louie P. Jackson (Edith) and David Jackson (Virgie); sisters Ruby Page and Thelma Luther; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
Service: Funeral services for will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, Fla., with Pastors Robert and Janis Kinley officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:15-11 a.m. at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
Memorials: The family requests memorials be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Jacksonville, FL; or St. Catherine Laboure Manor, Jacksonville, FL.
