Mary Oma Fry Shepherd
Mary Oma Fry Shepherd, 73, Salisbury, died Wednesday (Dec. 24, 2003) at Autumn Care of Salisbury.
Born Nov. 28, 1930, in Rowan County, Mrs. Shepherd was a daughter of the late Luther Adam and Elizabeth Frick Fry.
Educated in the Rowan County Schools, she worked in the spinning room of Cannon Mills Plant 7, Kannapolis, for more than 30 years.
She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons Kenneth R. and James P. Shepherd, both of Gold Hill, and Edward E. Shepherd, Salisbury; brother Jerry Fry, Lexington; five grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Liberty United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Mark Helms, pastor. Burial, church cemetery.
Visitation: 9:30-11 a.m. Friday, Liberty United Methodist Church and at other times at the home of granddaughter Mary Shepherd Whitaker, 8965 Stokes Ferry Road.
Powles Funeral Home is in charge.
